               St. Patrick's Day!!!
Support your favorite dancers as they "SHAKE" their shamrocks!

In its 9th year, Dancing for Future Stars proved to be another fabulous night of entertainment, food, and FUNdraising!  It was successful year...raising over $415,000!  This brings the total funds raised in this event's short history to over $2 million!!! All proceeds benefit Boys & Girls Club youth in Gaston County through vital afterschool and summer programming.  A special thanks to our 2018 Celebrity Dancers: Angie Bloomifield, Rev, David Christy, Chris Dobbins, Dr. Mark Epstein, Amanda Hommell, Dr. Charmaine Luvis Kennedy, Rev. Lauren Vanacore, and Charles Winters, II!

The Club Stick Squad welcomed folks as they entered the Country Club and the event kicked off with a special performance from the Boys & Girls Club dancers (pictured left).

Chad Melvin, Chief Executive Officer, welcomed the attendees and thanked Board Members, Sponsors, Professional and Celebrity Dancers, Judges, and ticket holders. Board Vice President Gayle Kersh also spoke about the impact this event has had on the Boys & Girls Club and how it has helped the organization to grow from serving 439 youth per year to over 1,600 annually!

Club Alumnus Demetrius Lewis spoke about how the Boys & Girls Club changed his life.

This year's judges were Sheriff Alan Cloninger, 2010 Dancing for Future Stars winner Jennie Stultz, and professional dancer Jonathan Roberts of Dancing with the Stars fame.  Emcees Jim Cookson & Emily Craig kept everyone laughing throughout the night.

Each of the 8 Celebrity Dancers performed two dances:one traditional and one freestyle.

And the Mirrorball Goes To...

Rev. Lauren Vanacore who alone raised over $104,000, took home the top prize as Grand Champion with his professional partner, Clement Joly! This is the highest amount ever raised by a dancer.

Rev. David Christy and partner Tatiana Kazakova were awarded the Dance Champion mirrorball trophy for highest dance score! There was actually a tie for Dance Champion between David Christy and Amanda Hommell...both scored a perfect score of 30 on each of their routines.  A tie is broken by highest fundraiser which went to David raising over $70,000.

Amanda Hommell and partner Jake Dvies received the Silver Star for runner-up for overall dance score and amount of money raised at over $57,000! (photo bottom right)
