Boys & Girls Clubs of America

Boys and Girls Clubs have become a prevalent source of childcare and youth development throughout the US, specifically in at-risk communities.  Celebrities and Boys and Girls Club alumni like Denzel Washington and Jennifer Lopez have become spokespersons for the national organization, representing other alumni who attribute a portion of their success to the opportunities and support the Boys and Girls Club provided them.

Since the first Club was created in 1860, 3,985 Clubs have been chartered in the US and military bases worldwide, serving nearly 4 million youth through membership and outreach programs.  The organization has been named the number one youth organization by The Chronicle of Philanthropy for 18 years, according to the Philanthropy 400 report.  BGCA’s effective history of serving at-risk youth across the country has catapulted it as an international nonprofit model with a recognizable brand.
